What sex are my bobwhites?????

I have 9 bobwhite quail at the moment

I have 2 that look like this:

And the rest look like this:

Which are males and which are females?

There 14 weeks old. When will they start laying?

I was just researching them because I have 25 Bobwhite chicks right now. It showed the ones with white on the face are male and the brown faced ones are females. I don't remember seeing at what age they lay, sorry.

Sounds like you got a good male/female ratio

Yeah.

The males have the white faces.

That is correct. I do not think that they reach sexual maturity until after 16-18 weeks.

1st one is male 2nd is female.

Although they reach maturity at 16-18weeks, sometimes they do not begin laying until the following spring.
