What should I be asking

I just saw someone local on Craig's List selling Blue Red Laced Wyandottes. I do not show, I just would like some nice BRLW for my backyard flock, pet quality I guess. I would however like them to be pure...so if I choose to breed them later I could get decent quality. What do I need to ask this person selling the chicks? Thanks!! Also, is there any easy way to tell the sex of these little chicks at a coupel days old?? TIA!!

I'd ask if they've ever had any respiratory illness in the flock. If they say yes, pass. That is paramount to me. I'd ask where they got their stock as well.
