Unfortunatally she has been being picked on alot :( I've seperated her for now, in hopes that that will help. No, she is not laying (at 30 weeks!). But the main issue is that she's TINY! My white leghorn is much bigger than her. She's just very scrawny. I think she has been chased away from the food alot. So...what should I feed her to help 'fatten her up' and help her start laying? I have chick feed, layer feed, scratch, and, of course, plenty of treats on hand.

Thanks!

Hi,

How tiny are we talking? And are we talking skinny tiny or small tiny?
If shes underweight, Give her fattening pellets
If shes just small and under developed then give her growers meal
You could even mix them up and give her both.

Protein is probably a good start. Do you have more than one feeder? You should, if you have a bully like the Leghorn. I'm assuming you are feeding them layer rations now since the rest of them are laying? For her you could give her some scrambled eggs to boost her protein and get her caught up. Sorry about your bullying, we had that too for a while and I ended up in our guest room overnight feeding scrambled eggs and syringing water into a poor chick who had been starved out by the bigger chicks. ***Sigh***

Here's the mixture I give my runts to catch up with their brothers and sisters:

75% Chick starter/Gamebird crumbles
25% Scratch

On top of that, they get 2tbs Regular or Lowfat Plain Yogurt 2 times daily. I think the cultures/bacteria in the yogurt help them absorb nutrients from their feed more efficiently. Hard boiled/scrambled eggs wouldn't hurt either.
Good luck!
