What should I do if I find out some of my silkies chicks are cockerals?

I'm not permitted to have roosters in this area but if I had one I'll probably just keep him because we can't have because of noise but honestly my neighborhood is full of loud dogs and birds that you can hear at almost all times so I'm not too worried. (Shh don't tell). They were purchased straight run and that's the reason we didn't want to leave the last one alone because they said it wasn't likely someone would buy him/her since it's gender wasn't certain. Also, when I have that rooster later on, I can still eat the eggs correct? And is there like a specific season they mate in?

Yes, you can still eat the eggs if you have a rooster. Just collect them from the nests daily and they will be just fine.

Mating is more prevalent in spring, but they can mate year round.

WELCOME! You can always door ditch! :lol: . Maybe .. ? Seriously though, check out your state thread. Then your local ads. Plenty online usually. Silkies are a fun one, and I actually just saw someone asking ...ISO... for a Silkie rooster in our area. Good luck.
 
Welcome to BYC! I would not keep more than one rooster with a small flock. They can over mate your hens. Maybe you will only get one though! There is a state thread in the forums of you need to talk to local people. This may be helpful if you have extra roos. Nice to meet you!
