What should I do now that we have these spotted as close as 1 mile from house?

I had an immature Golden Eagle dine on a lovely BR in my suburban yard this year. I know another henthusiast had a juvenile Bald Eagle in their yard. I know we have issues here because they're doing work on the big dam where the birds usually hang out, but still- I would never count them out as a predator. I leave the dogs out and move oversized 4-legged stuffed animals around the yard to act as scarecrows...but it's good to pop out and make a check occasionally. Nothing is as good as a good roo, and sometimes that's not enough. Have lots of places they can duck under to hide throughout the run and yard.

Has anyone been to their local landfill lately? Bald eagles are Thick as Thieves at landfills here in Florida.
They are scavengers, and/ or opportunistic. They fly over my house all the time during migration. There is no mistaking their call. Never bothered my free ranging birds or my Dad's racing pigeons. Hawks, on the other hand....

I definately have had problems with juvenile bald eagles here. Two of my roosters were taken. One was recovered alive, the other was never seen again. I also walked outside after hearing a dog barking near my front door. Several juveniles were standing in my yard trying to corner the little dog. I have never had a problem with adults.

Yesterday while feeding the cows I found a Golden Eagle plucking a canadian goose. I am guessing the goose was already dead, but that eagle was certainly big enough to take one if he wanted.... I use the little metal pinwheels around my coop, it seems to discourage hawks and might work for eagles too. Also make sure there isn't a roosting area for the eagle near the chickens. Some people also place old cd's and dvd's shiny side up of flat surfaces around the coop to discourage other birds....

I've had them sit for hours in the trees in my yard while the chickens walked around.

They'd rather eat fish, or something already dead, than kill a chicken
This one is eating a possum in the pasture beside the house while there are chickens less than 100 ft away
