What should I do now?

Most cities have multiple residential zoning districts (as well as various non-residential districts). They often differ based upon lot size and/or location. What is and is not allowed relates to the specific district, and what is seen as being appropriate for that particular district: larger lots usually have different restrictions than ones that are much smaller--the setbacks are usually larger on large lots, allowed/disallowed activities may be different based upon hte fact that neighbors are closer/farther away, etc.

I agree with the other posters--the ordinance seems to relate to commercial poultry.

So happy you can have your chickens!
