I have a chick that has a rather large piece of the egg membrane that is stuck to its back and wing that keeps it from moving easily. It is now in the brooder. Should I do something to try and take it off now? If not now, when?

My inclination is to leave things alone and let them take care of themselves. If the piece is huge, maybe you can break it up a bit. Regardless, it will dry up and fall off eventually. This is probably one of those things a mama would take care of, if the mama weren't a brooder.

Curious what the harm would be to use warm water and help it off at this point?
