Ok, so with my recent sudden impulse to raise buff brahmas, my mom couldnt be happier and wants another coop and run as badly as I do. So were making one! That will give me three runs and coops!!!!! Here are my two plans. Which one would you go for?

PLAN ONE.
Put Brahmas in new run and coop. Have time b/c they are only babies now. Run will be around 200 sq ft. Coop about 64 sq ft. I would put my silkie pair in a 30 sq ft run by themselves so they wouldnt get picked on (already starting) and could have pure babies. Then I would keep my misc. hens in the 100 sq footer.

PLAN TWO
Same with Brahmas. But I would keep the silkie pair with the misc hens, but that would make it eight in there.

I vote for plan 1

We want pics of the whole she-bang when it's done too !!!!

k. well heres the breeds that will be in my 100 sq ft misc pen. i already have them, but some are chicks.

1 barred rock
1 sebright mix
1 Araucana
1 silver spangled hamburg
1 quail d anvers

all females. i want a roo in each pen because they are so beautiful, i love the crowing, and their proud way of things is amazing! i LOVE roos!!! What would you suggest? i want one that could mate with all the girls and would be friendly to people and chickens.

Good reason to get a couple more silkie girls!

Give him a couple girls.

As for your others, you will want a bantam rooster. They can mate with standard hens, but a standard rooster over bantam hens would be a little much.

Pick a rooster of the breed you like the best, then you can hatch pb chicks of your favorite breed.

I really only think two silkies would be comfortable in that coop. Oh, well. I can seperate them if need be. I am really interested in a polish bantam. what are they like? ive heard they arent cold hardy. i need something that is.
