When you incubate Guinea eggs your not going to see development inside cause the shell is so thick right? And what should i be looking for when i candle them, like what should i see at day 5, day 10, day 15..... all help is appreciated.thank you.

I have a batch of guinea eggs in the bator now (day 24). I could see a spot at day 7, and movement by day 10. I am using a small LED flashlight that I bought at Home Depot. It works really well.

I have my second batch of guineas in the bator now, I can see the embryo and veining the same as chicken eggs on day 7 or 10.

The shells are hard to see through, you just need a really bright light, like a nine-LED flashlight with fresh batteries. You should see the same things as with chicken eggs, but it takes longer, because of the 28-day incubation period, and you may not see it as clearly, but you should be able to make out veining, dark spots, and maybe movement. Except maybe of the darker ones, I've had some I couldn't see into. I just assumed they were good, and waited to see if they hatched. Mostly, they do. Guinea eggs are tough little things!
