What should I name my chicks

My most recent set of group names was given to my hen, Poppy's, recent batch of chicks. We decided to name them all after flowers/plants and ended up with Sorrel, Iris, Juniper, and Chrysanthemum. Other plant names I've given over the years include Ivy, Dahlia, Basil, Aspen, Tulip, and Sprout.

I've also named chickens after food (Mochi, Noodle, Toffee, Peanut, Honey, Meatball, Clementine, Bean, Stracciatella), Greek gods (Zeus, Hades, Athena, Demeter, Hestia, Artemis), and given them human names (Mary Ann, Ellie, Annie, Lucy, Rosie, Harriet, Phyllis, Belle, Augusta, Eve, Jackson, William). Some other fun ones are Cricket, Nimbus, Confetto (singular form of confetti), Bee, Ophelia, Falcon, and Pipsqueak.

I've named almost every chicken I've had, even ones I didn't end up keeping, so I definitely have a surplus of ideas.

Thanks for all the great names! I usually go back and forth on names for my pets. My nieces and nephew like to name some of the ducks and chickens to sometimes, but the names they choose, don’t always mesh with the names I choose. For example my first 4 chickens last year I had named Chico, Chicky, and Chicklet, they begged me to pick the name for the 4th chicken, a silkie and they named her... Bella! I had a theme going there but they didn’t care:rolleyes:

now before I make a promise that they can pick a name, I always ask what it is first.
