YES!!! Pekins are so good for beginners. And that's what I am, a beginner... My two Pekins are the only kind I've had yet but they're already my favorite!!!

I've found that Runners and Khaki Campbells seem to be the best layers.

I love my Swedish also! They are mellow compared to my Khaki Campbells and are good layers of huge eggs. I even love my drake he's really good with the ladies.

Yes. My KCs are scared of their own shadows that's a bit of an exaggeration, but they are much more skittish than my Swedish as well as most of my chickens. The eggs from the Swedish are waaaaay bigger than the KCs too, my KCs' eggs are about the same size as my chicken eggs.
