Hi, I charge $2 each for hatching eggs from my royal palms, which I consider to be on the low side given that I got a 95 % hatch rate out of my palms last year and they are entry level show quality. I charge $4 for hatching eggs from my higher quality show birds and i have seen prices as high as $8 per egg for top quality production and show birds. If you are just interested in having a few turkeys for your yard, not showing them or selling them as thanksgiving turkeys then i would look for eggs that are about the same price as those offered by the hatcheries. If the prices are higher then ask the breeder why. If they know what they are doing they should not be offended and should have a reason such as that there birds are higher quality (better producers, quicker growing, healthier etc) or are organic, non medicated etc. I would recommend against buying from a hatchery as they usually have poor quality stock and with the addition of shipping charges and the affect of transport on the eggs you are better off with a local breeder.
Hope you find some eggs.
