What should I put on the floor

I have a big tray made of a sheet of plywood and framed with 2x3 under my roosts. I put vinyl flooring on that and glued it down with flooring glue, and painted the 2x3 with a high gloss paint for easy clean-up. I fill the tray with pine shavings. I just slide out the tray, shovel the contents into a wheel barrow and haul to the compost heap.

I use pine shavings and straw. I just scoop poop out with one of those little kitty litter shovels.

I used lenoleum and set things up so I can remove it to hose it off then put it back. My roosts are not supported on the floor, I angled 2x4s back to the wall, so I can just roll the flooring up and take it out.

WOOD SHAVINGS ALL THE WAY!!!! If you want to use hay, dont... use straw if u have it, BUT wood shavings absorb it WAAAY better. i use wood shavings myself. I know a person who uses straw and i have to clean their chicken coop, the chickens dont seem to like it that much either

I have a wire floor. I put "poop planks" under the roosts, which I remove occasionally and clean off. The rest of the poop falls through the wire as the girls walk on it. The coop is very clean. At first I was concerned about bumble foot, but the girls spend all day outside, and are on their roosts at night, so they aren't on the floor much. The henhouse is elevated about 2 feet, so it's easy to get under there with a rake and get any excess poop, leaves, etc. In the summer the girls have fun eating all the bugs that are attracted to their poop. This method works for me.

I use all purpose sand in mind . Its easy to scoop up the poop and shift the clean back in .

in my coop i had just shavings.

in my garage i have a mix of hay and the shavings. it would have taken a lot of bags of the shavings to cover the floor enough to keep it clean and help to insulate it from the cement.

My daughter is raising chickens for show for 4-H. I just got done shelling some purple hull peas and was wondering. Has anyone ever uses the hulls for the floor if a coop?
