What should I worry about most in the Illinois suburbs?

I live in Lockport Il. I had 12 Hens. Yesterday a big Hawk came out of the air and killed my EE. My husband chased it away but not before the hawk killed and
started to eat my girl. I'm afraid to let any of my remaining hens out to free range. So be afraid of whats in the sky as well as coyotes and the neighbors dog!

I live in Rockford, and I have heard that there have been wolf and cougar sitings around here and in towards Chicago for a few years. Hawks are a really big problem out here, as are coyotes, raccoons, and opossums.
