What should the humidity be?

You can still salt test your hygrometer to check it for accuracy. It is easy to do. I just did it with two I got in the mail yesterday. One was off by 3% and one was off by 4%
They were reading high so I just have to -3 or -4 on the readings I get.

mine was off by 1%, so I basically have 59%

Many people incubate at your humidity readings and have no issues whatsoever, like I said you’ll have as many opinions about this as there are people on BYC.

I think I'll go for a 50-60% humidity and I'll lower\elevate depending on weights

You can try taking all the water out and seeing what the humidity reading is. It will not hurt anything short term.

Weights work, too. I’ve also done it this way but I find monitoring air cell sizes easier.

it took a while to put the humidity up though so I think i'll leave it.
I'd have to wait an hour though because the hygrometer takes a while to measure

Everybody has their own way of doing incubation. I’ve been doing dry incubation for about two years. not trying to convince you to do it this way, just offering it as an option.
