You have to teach a dog what its name is, it won't know otherwise.

Suggestion - pick a name you like - but try for a 'sharper' sounding name - not Molly, but something like Becca, or Pooka -

the best names start with a 'plosive' letter like B or P - a plosive is a letter where you blow air out between your lips, the best dog names have no more than 2 syllables, and the middle syllables are 'hard consonants' like K, and the end in a vowel - (aeiou,y)

Dogs hear words like that more easily from other words - but you still have to teach the dog its name.

Put it on a leash, call its name, give it a treat. Get the dog tuned in on you and watching you. Say 'Pookah!' and when it looks toward you, preferably UP towards iyou, immediately reward it with it a treat, respond as fast as possible.

Are you sure she's a mix? She looks a lot like a Dandie Dinmont Terrier.....but whatever she is, cute is a great word for her!

How about calling her Penny?
