I just picked up an auto turner for our little giant 9200.

What way does the egg go? Round side up or pointy side up?

I can't find this info anywhere. It looks like the round side (what
I would call the bottom) goes up in the picture.

We also added the air circulator.

Yeah, Don, whatcha incubating? Oh, is this for the ones I'm sending you in a few weeks? Oops, never mind-I was posting when you were posting your answer to Deb, LOL. Yep, aircell (fat side) goes up, always. Sometimes with my Lexie's eggs, they are so oval, I have to candle to find the little aircell and even then, sometimes it's difficult. One of my Brahmas lays a golfball shape and sized egg, but usually you can tell which end is up, but Lexie? Always has to be unique.

A few are very oval but I think I can make a good guess.

Our local feed store had a LG 9200 still air on her shelf. I grabbed
it for $38 bucks or something. We were just going to experiment
with it using our eggs.

Then Jody posted she had her Buff eggs available and I couldn't refuse. In order
to get the best hatch with her eggs we ordered the air circulator and turner.
Plus I have 4 thermometers and 2 humidity meters in it.

The plan originally was to buy the Brinsea Oct 20 or Rcom 20. Now I've
got $130 invested in this LG so we'll see how it works.

My first hatch, 25 years ago, was is a foam incubator with a lightbulb.
I had a hatch rate of more than 50%.

Thanks everyone!!!

Candling is a good idea, you can find the air cell and you can eliminate any eggs with blood spots, cracks, or broken air cells before you even start to incubate.

I have an LG 9200 with turner and fan and had two excellent hatches with it 9 out of 10 and 6 out of 7.

You'll have those cute little buff peeps in no time... ah don't quote me on that though.
