My husband is trying to finish up our chicken coop. Between the weather and shortage of supplies due to the pandemic, our final design has been a moving target! We ended up omitting windows and adding ventilation elsewhere based on hardware cloth on hand and using the quickest-way-to-getter-done-method between rain storms. To my surprise, I think it is turning out quite nicely. We need to cut in a permanent chicken door. What size should we use for Easter Eggers & Bielefelders? This door is connected to a secure run and will be left open at all times, so I want to make sure it isn’t too big an opening during winter.

I think mine is roughly 12"x14" give or take a little.

This is a photo from when it was connected to a hardened run and I left it open all the time.

My Light Brahma rooster from that flock was fully 2 feet tall and got in and out just fine. :)
