What size havahart trap?

What size Havahart trap should I get for raccoons? They have two sizes listed for raccoons: 32 x 10.5 x 12 and 42 x 15 x 15.

either trap will catch and hold a coon. i use the 32 in . i have caught lots of coon in that trap.

the small one will catch plenty of coons try taking a wiffle ball and wiring it to the trigger treadle after filling it with bait

Bigger is better.

Most animals won't hesitate to enter a trap that is large, when they will NOT enter one they think is too small

I agree with bear also. The bigger trap can be used to catch bigger predators as well.

I have a havahart 1089 which I am sure is the 32 inch one,but not sure on the other numbers. I have caught coons,possums,and groundhogs.Just put some zxip ties on the back door to hold it firm.
I say get the bigger one.I got what was at the local home depot.

I have built a coupla them for folks and the measurement are not written in stone the Pvc make it easy to make them larger or smaller
