What size nest box do I need?

I know most nest boxes should be 12"x12". How ever what size nest boxes do I need for smaller chickens like Silkies, and bigger chickens like White Chantecler?

They can all use the same. I usually make mine about 13 or 14" square and 2 big birds have been known to squeeze in there together.

I would recommend 16 inches cubed for large fowl. Mine like the more spacious boxes and since they sometimes cram 3 or 4 in there at once, it works better for their "laying parties".
