How big is your pop door and how far from the floor is yours? I currently am building a new coop and i don’t want the pop door to be level with the floor. Right now the drawing is 6” from the floor, is that too high up?

That’s what i was thinking when i drew it on but i was like idk that’s pretty high but i guess bedding does make sense that it won’t be that high upThe door in the Little Monitor Coop is only a few inches above the floor and should have been at least 6" up because bedding spills out.
You want enough room for a good layer of bedding.![]()
So i just fixed it and it’s about 16” high and 14” widthI went 8" to bottom of pop door , and usually only have a couple inches f bedding.
Here's some tips about heights:

Pop door openings are 14 x 18".
There's have a lock mechanism on one that reduces the opening to 14",
I wouldn't want to go smaller than that.
It’s the door to the run and the run is going to secure so the only thing that should be able to get into the coop from that door is chickensNot the answer I was hoping for when I opened this to read, I think my dogs can get through an opening that size. I need to go look I don't think the pop door on the chicken house at dads is that big but I could be wrong.
If you never let your birds out of the run then all would be fine. It’s the door to the run and the run is going to secure so the only thing that should be able to get into the coop from that door is chickens![]()
Only let them out when i’m around and can watch them. We have too many coyotes, foxes, and hawks around hereIf you never let your birds out of the run then all would be fine.![]()
