What size wire for the bottom of the cage

I can get some wire cages used for 30 -35 buck each but they have 1 x 1 inch wire on the bottom. Is that too big.

Yes, pull the bottom out and stick some 1/2 inch wire on it. Use the 1 inch to wrap around the legs so predators can't get under.

OK that what I thought The cage were used to raise mink. The guy also have some cages that were used for breeding . I might ask him what size wire is on the bottom of those cages.
