I know that potatoes are toxic to chickens, but I wondered about sweet potatoes? Are they bad too? And popped popcorn, is it OK?

I feed my chickens cooked potatoes and it's fine- even the peel. Popped popcorn is OK too, also unpopped.

I wouldn't feed raw potatoes but that's just me. They might be toxic for all I know raw.

I used to feed mine raw sweet potatoes out of our garden every day and they were fine.

My four girls are just eight weeks old and I keep trying them on different things but so far they won't touch tomatoes or bananas or grower pellets!! They go crazy over any meat scraps, yoghurt and crumble. How can I get them to eat their pellets? Is it just a time thing?

Thanks chickensaresweet.

My daughter came over to visit one day last week. (She lives about 80 miles from me). She took my little blind dog out to go potty for me. When she came in she said "OMG! Your chickens are SPOILED!!!!!! They about ran over me when I went out the door!" LMBO!!!!! Soooooooooooooooooo, I agree ................ chickens ARE sweet! :love

I haven't tried cheerio's yet. My DH (dear husband) eats them as fast as I can bring them in the door!!! lol He loves them too. He eats them out of a Jethro size bowl ...... i.e. mixing bowl. Maybe I could get the girls some of the generic cheerios, he doesn't like them as much as the real thing.
