What temps can six week old chicks endure at night in a closed coop?

Our 8 chicks are different ages--from about 8-9 weeks to about 6 weeks. We live in SW Montana. It is warm in the daytime @80 degrees now but nights range into the mid forties. We have a heat lamp in the coop but in the a.m. when we open it the temp is up to 85 degrees. Is it okay to switch to an ordinary bulb for heat now?

If they are all roosting togehter then I would. If you have an odd chick out who has to keep it's self warm I'd wait another week or two.

I havemonth old 3 bantam and 1 standard chicks in an unheated coop at night with temps in the mid to low forties, but they all snuggle together.

I just turned off my 6 weekd old chick heat lamp last night. I was soooooo worried but the did fine. Checked on them about midnight they were all cuddle up not on each other kinda in nice little circle. 70 in the days drops to 40 at night here.

I've had my now 7 weekers out for two weeks. It's been getting down to 40 and they have NO light. They're all fine
