all four of my pullets bend down and squat when i come near them. then when i pet them their rear end goes up in to the sky. what are they doing?

Congratulations. You are now the rooster and they are displaying a submissive posture which usually indicates to the rooster that they are ready for mating. No further effort required on your part.... Do you have a rooster?

They're reacting as they would as if you were a rooster...

you know, as if you were "approaching" them. Hahah. My hens do the same thing. It's normal.

Yup. Give them some pets and they will fluff off and wander off happy.

You are also on your way to eggs.

Your the rooster and they are submitting to you. It's a good thing, honest.

More of my 10 Comets are now doing the dance of submission and I have to pet them and tell them how pretty they are and that their very good girls. Been getting 5-6 eggs a day but today there were 8 including a jumbo. 71 since Labor day! So they get all the high praises and attention I have time to give them. We do like our picnic table time together.
