Well, BOTH of my coturnix chicks died through the night. The one never made it completely out of the egg, the other was out and acting fine, then this morning, dead. I had even showed the lively one to a friend who was over, and that was like 3am (yeah, yeah, I know, we all have weird hours), and then around 7:30, it was dead. I never took it out of the bator either.

when did it hatch.....mine do not last as long in the bator as the chickens do they seem to get dehydrated easier...just my experience..

Yeah, it's best to remove them within 12 hours, but I have had some 'different' chicks that were in the brooder for 2 days and all died one after the other. These were your brown tux's? Maybe they were just weak?
