What the heck is Kefir????

Seriously, what is it? I have never heard of it until today and I still don't quite understand. It seems to me like spoiled milk.

It's essentially drinkable yogurt. Instead of using cream to culture to make yogurt. Kefir is made from milk. Yogurt that you can drink like a smoothie. Delicious!

I saw it on Dr. Oz last night and he said it's fermented milk. Not sure I understand either. I'd have to google it.

This is a site that sells kefir grains so you can make it yourself at home. It's really good, but it can get expensive if you buy it a lot. We let it sit longer and use it in place of sour cream. My kids love it, I put it in their smoothies. I haven't given any of it to my chickens though. I don't know if they can have it. Does anyone else know?

Please don't buy the Kefir grains. I have extra and will give to you. Just cover the cost of package and shipping. They grow out of control after a few months. I have to keep dividing mine to make small batches. Just PM me.
