Thats definately a male bob white quail. hard to say which sub speces as they all look identical, (size really the only difference...) sell him, eat him, or breed him----DO NOT LET HIM GO ---- THIS IS ILLEGAL IN MOST STATES AND MAY COST A SEVERE AMOUNT FINACIALLY AS WELL AS DESTROY THE LOCAL BOB WHITE POPULATION FOR 3 STATES IN ANY DIRECTION (there are reasons why fish and wildlife control the release of these guys)

No matter what you do with him he will need his own accomodations soon as he will kick into breeding season in the near future and you will understand the term "mean lil bird" quite well after that... He'll definately get even with the coturnix. If you find him a girl of his on they will do what quails do---- make you bob white eggs!
