What the heck, my chickens are mowing through the food....

You must stay out in your coop with that many! Really great posting.

The wife remains dismayed at how many chickens are in the backyard. She remains very concerned about the capacity of the Brower redwood incubator I picked up last year. It says the capacity is 1200 eggs.

I have this feeder (not my picture), but it works amazingly.
Since buying this and training the chickens to use it, I've had 0 mice and all of the pigeons and doves have had to move out, it's great! My bag of feed now lasts for 1 and a half months instead of the 3. And that's with 6 chickens munching on a 20kg bag.

I definitely recommend it, I bought mine for $60 and it's saved me much more by the amount of feed that's going to my chickens.

I saw one of these available in australia, but have never seen them here..where did you get this?? Thanks!

Only about a 70 degree difference between me and you :tongue
Ugh! Im sorry.....well not sorry enough to live anywhere that it gets 10 degrees for the high! Lol :thThat's far too chilly for this girls blood!
I just dont think that even our drop in temps should affect their food consumption so much....I think some mice are visiting:( so Im just feeding them daily til I can bring in some rock around the bottom of the coop.....That should keep those pesky field mice out:fl

Put a couple snap traps out there and catch those mice. Chickens love mice - as a food treat. Once they figure the first one out, they will chase each other and try to steal them.
