This chicken is supposed to be a Columbian Wyandotte. When it was a bitty baby it looked exactly like the other Columbian Wyandotte chicks. It is seven weeks old now and still doesn’t have all of its feathers. It was the last chick to feather in my flock. It looks more like a silver laced to me but it doesn’t have a rose comb. I’m also thinking it’s probably a Roo due to the comb and wattles, late feathering, size, and pantaloons look going on. I’m really hoping not because it’s a super sweet chicken. 😢 Did I wind up with a barnyard mix Roo or just a super weird recessive trait chicken... ?

Where did you buy your chicks? I doubt tractor supply or a farm store would carry laced orpingtons.it’s legs look very thick so that could be a clue to it’s breed? I agree that it’s a cockerel. Can you keep them in your area?

We got them from CAL Ranch which is a local farm store in Utah. They source their chicks from Hoover Hatchery. Or at least that’s what their website says. 😉 I can’t keep Roos in my municipality. 😢
