What the heck?

This chicken was dumped off at a local feedstore as an unwanted rooster.

Am I missing something? This sure looks like an Americauna hen to me. Absolutely no sings of spurs on her legs and she looks quite full grown.

Is this a hen?

What color would you call her?

I don't know. The tail's kind of long, and s/he has that look in her/his eye that says "Try me." But you're right on the breed.
In the first picture, the color was the same as my blue laced red wyandotte. Essentially grayish and orangish-reddish.
How's that for definitive?

Looks like an Easter Egger hen (hatcheries sell them as Ameraucanas). Looks like she's a mixed buff/blue.

Poor darlin' is so traumatized by her experience at the feedstore I'm just going to let her be quiet and unmolested for a few days beofre I give her a thorough health inspection.

I'm going to give her some electrolytes in her water and some good chow to see if it helps her perk up.

Any idea on how to determine her age?

She doesn't have a mature comb yet, so I'd guess 16-20 weeks.

She looks exactly like our favorite easter egger layer named Wormy! She got her name because she can beat anybody in the pen to any worm that comes near them!
