I brought four "laying hens" home two weeks ago. Unfortunately we only get one egg a day from our RIR. They free range, they aren't molting, they have scratch, oyster shell, grit, treats, fresh water, a great coop. What's a girl gotta do to get some eggs?

Sometimes it takes a while for them to adjust to a new place, when I added new hens it took a couple weeks for them to start laying normally. How old are they? One of my new hens never laid an egg- I figured she was much older than the seller had guessed. I hope you start getting more eggs soon!

The RIR is one year and she is banded so the seller was sure. The others I was told were about a year and all layers. I am still noticing changes in them (coming around more, talking more) so maybe it's just time they need. Thanks!
