I moved him to another cage with a heat lamp because he still wasn't really walking and he kept flipping himself over and getting stepped on... But this morning he is walking better.



Now he has a buddy! I went down to the coop to get a little like 1/2 gallon waterer and I looked under one of the mommas and saw egg shells so I reached further and found little legs! <3 This one isn't completely dry so I'd saw it hatched within the last hour. I am only moving the babies because her eggs are staggered in hatching... Not on purpose though, we were on vacation when 6 hens went broody

Hes not injured.. He got some water on his face.

Hm I think the same hen layed this egg that layed the baby I found the day before yesterday. They look almost identical. This little guy came out of a brown egg, seeing as we don't have white birds that lay brown eggs.... It has to be our Light Brahma mix rooster child! Because I said so

Okay So I had to help another one with the same thing going on... Here are some pictures of the cooked like yolk.

He probably wasnt ready to hatch...
I am sorry for your loss, but you have two adorable chicks that need you so just move on. These things happen and it is a tragedy every darn time.

I think he was ready didn't have any yolk out or anything. But he had that weird cooked yolk.. Its gross and weird!

Those are five of my chicks that i was babysitting for the afternoon till mama was hatching the rest of the chicks, none hatched in the end but what can you do.
I am going to post a couple more of them tomorrow because that picture was taken a while ago, now they are bigger.
Hope that lifted your spirit a bit, i know how hard it is to lose a chick.
Once one had pipped a whole in the egg and didnt hatch, he died in the night time in the egg and i cried like a baby and he hadnt even hatched so imagine what i would be like if one that had hatched died.
