New to chickens.

My Light Sussex started laying at about 22 weeks. My Australorp at about 25 weeks. My Wyandottes who are both 28 weeks are not!

The Buff one every couple of days will give the call the other girls give when they lay. She can be in the middle of the yard. I have looked everywhere and no eggs.

The other one...nothing.

All my chooks have extremely bright red combs etc.

They free range all day, are fed well and have a shed for the night. They have 2 nest boxes to choose from and the other 2 girls lay in the same box.

Any advise for people who know what they are doing.

I'm afraid you get to do what the rest of us do: wait! 28 weeks isn't all that late, and with bright red combs, your eggs are probably coming soon. I know of one instance where the chicken didn't lay her entire first year, then started laying just like nothing was odd.

Thanks so much for the reply. Not exactly what I was hoping for, I wanted a miracle cure!!! I know ......I need to wait, not my strong suite. They are healthy and happy so that will have to be enough for the time being.
