I have been giving them white bread, is that okay? I read an article that said to feed them whole wheat bread.

Thanks for all the help, Cammy

I will def not give them white bread anymore. There are several with runny brown poop.

Thanks for the info. Cammy

My chickens love bread, any kind. It is ok to give to them. It is not going to hurt them. As many have said, "my chickens are like pigs with feathers!" Of course, you would not give them bread as their only feed. They love it as a treat.

They def. loved the bread and cornbread, but I put sugar in my cornbread, so would that be okay? I also give them pellets for 10-18 week old chicks. They prefer bugs over anything, esp worms. I love to watch them when one finds a worm, it goes through about 5 or 6 of them before one gets to eat it.

I feed mine just about everything that has been and is getting done in the garden. I havent had any keel over dead or anything. I never really stuck to any age feeding charts. Just used my judgement and also the what is poison to the chickens list. I think sometimes we get all caught up on trying to raise them perfect. Its like an infant...when exactly do you feed them other stuff than baby food. If my chickens cant live through my rough raising they will never survive my kids!!
