3 coops and 3 bedtimes, the only group that has experience any attack (friendly neighbor dogs mouthed one and shook up the group but no one was hurt) will be in the coop almost an hour before dusk. The older girls, now in their second summer go to bed and are settled at dusk, and the Naked Necks and Delawares boss each other until we physically grab them and stuff them in the coop. One of the NN pullets will stand in the pop door blocking it until the crowd rushes her. Other nights the Dellies do that, anyway it will be deep dark inside the coop before they settle down.
Little late, but mine all out themselves to bed somewhere between dusk and dark. It varies by the day, but definitely depends on light levels. If I have a light on in the coop for some reason they go to bed sooner.
