What time of day do they lay?

Well, supposedly it takes 26 hours to ready for the next egg laying. I believe this is true. My girls will lay early morning one day and then a little later the next and the next, til most are laid late in the day. I've gotten an egg as late as 7:30 pm and as early as 6:30 am. We only collect once a day (during the week). On Sat. and Sun. I get to spend more quality time with the girls to watch and discuss the week's events.

We have 8 girs that just turned a year old and most of the eggs are laid by 1 pm, but there will normally be another egg or 2 later in the day. Normally none before 7 am or after 4 pm.

my girls lay all day so ii collect 3 times Blossom is my earliest layer between 6-7am and Pearl being the last at around 5pm. IN between times is a screaming match over a particular nest box. Its almost like each lady has an allotted amount of time to be in and out of the nest or she gets kicked out and has to wait til later. which according to girls behavior is easier said than done,

but I love my girls !!!!

My 3 hens seem to lay from 9:00-2:00, and I have been getting 3 eggs a day.

Mine lay just about every 25 hours on the dot. I can pretty much depend on them to lay one hour later each day until they would be laying at dusk, then they take a day off and start the following morning before I get out to open the pen. They are so dependable its amazing. My hens are all bread from wild stock, if that matters, I dont know.
