What to do - 24+ hours pipped and not zipping

Goodness, look at that face!

I'm so glad to hear to hear she made it o.k. Those toes should straighten out within a few days, good call on taping them.

So just as an update --

Wonky feet up there passed away after a few days. I don't think she was eating. I guess she was kind of a train wreck and maybe she just was never meant to make it.

The boy that hatched under our hen and the other girl are doing great.

We had one more boy hatch, he got partially unzipped and then stalled and I helped him finish up the last bit. And he turned out to have really wonky legs too. He's doing OK but he's definitely not walking right, on more of the heel of one leg.

I am suspecting our humidity might have been a little too high for the incubation, the chicks all came out kind of gummed up and we lost two eggs right at the end that were obviously full of chick and never hatched, and the air sacs looked really small.

I said I'd never do it again, but now I'm looking at bielefelder eggs. Someone slap me.
