What to do about Airhead? (lowest ranking hen)

My chicken who had a broken hip got along well w/ my chicks she acted as if their mother. Maybe if you got new chicks and she hung around them alot they would like her and she would like them and they would get along when they got bigger.

Oh, I am having the same problems with one of my little buffs. Afraid to come out of the coop and free range unless I am there to intervene with others bullying and jumping her. I am re-homing 3 of the wyandottes on Monday in the hopes that things will settle down in my flock. It's gotten pretty nasty in the last month or so and these girls have all grown up together.

I did find that when I put extra food and water in the area of the coop where the little buff stays, and made sure she got a share of the vegs and other garden stuff, she gained some weight and is filling out a bit. I have been working to restore her confidence, and I guess time will tell. She is of course, one of my favorites. My friends think I am crazy.
