hi everyone
i have two ducks in a large secure garden with a large shed / coop
my problem is that they are building a large nest at one end of the garden and i think they are about to lay for theb first time
what do i do if they lay, sit on the eggs what do i do at night when i usually put them away
there are foxes by my home in the country so im worried i cant leave them out
can anyone advise

My ducks lay daily in their coop, then they free-range. They have not shown the slightest intention of sitting on their eggs (yet!).

If they lay and it's not in their shed/coop, I would be tempted to put their eggs into the area in the coop/shed which is secure. If they decide they prefer their own nest outside and decide to sit on their eggs, I would be inclined to put them (and the eggs!) inside the coop/shed. Mine are locked away each night because I am also on a fox run and won't risk leaving them out.

Do bear in mind that foxes visit at *any* time of the day or night and are not solely night predators; so, your ducks are vulnerable to attack 24/7.
