Hello & hello.... found a couple of northern fowl mites crawling out of the cracks of the coop last night as it was getting dark. I know the drill but here's my problem. Live on an island in Washington and it's damp ALL THE TIME in the winter. Would love to scrub the coop down as usual but it would take forever to dry out. Is there something I can spray in the meantime? Was thinking maybe the oil/water/dish soap method. Of course the girls will get de-bugged as well.
Appreciate your suggestions ~P

Clean out and dispose of all the coop bedding, spray the coop with a Permethrin solution paying particular attention to the nooks and crannies and rebed. Dust the birds with a Permethrin based dust.
Repeat the cleanout and treatment in 7 days and again in 14 days.

I agree. To help dry the coop out you could put a fan in to help with the drying. Good luck...
