I ordered eggs from another BYC member on ebay. I got a message stating they were shipped last Thursday. After the mail came Monday and there were not any eggs I sent a message asking if they were sent because they hadn't arrived yet. I never got a response. This seller never sent a tracking number. When there were no eggs yet today, I sent another message stating I never got the eggs and I was wondering if they were sent yet. I also stated if I didn't hear from them by Friday I would be forced to take this up with ebay and leave negative feed back. I did get a response tonight. It said "it is sent. I don't know what to tell you. "

This seller has an untarnished rating. What should I do? I just want what I paid for.
Thanks,
Jim

I would ask for a date that they sent it out....when buying on ebay, it gives you a date range that it will be shipped and sent by. But since you bought them they have to tell you when they shipped them if you ask. you don't want to have bad eggs. IMO if not holding up to their end and not responding, then you should take it up with ebay !

Ask for a delivery confirmation number. Any seller on eBay who doesn't use delivery confirmation is asking for trouble, actually, it is just plain stupid NOT to use it. It PROVES something was shipped. If you don't get a response, don't neg on eBay yet, just open up a dispute on paypal to get your refund. Usually that spurs people into action. If they sent it, but didn't use delivery confirmation, paypal will refund your money because they have no proof they sent it.

You are talking about the US Post office right? The same post office that can take 2 weeks to get a letter 120 miles?

Eggs might very well have been sent when stated. Too bad there isn't delivery confirmation and tracking for the package, but the last couple I've had tracked got delivered before their whereabouts was noted on thee tracking website.

Seller should communicate, but sometimes people aren't home. If you didn't buy from an actual business, there are no business hours.

I hope your eggs arrive soon and undamaged.

Go back to ebays site and look up the transaction. See how they were supposed to be shipped. Typically it is priority mail. At least that is how I ship mine. Priority mail guarantees two days. Then you need to know when they were shipped. They may not have gotten a tracking #, which is very easy to forget. I was in a hurry 1 time and went to the post office to ship some eggs, I forgot to get delivery confirmation. I emailed the buyer straight away and told them they were shipped but I didn't have a tracking # for them. I gave them the expected ship by date and then emailed them on that date to make sure they arrived. Now, I print my shipping tags at home, so I automatically get tracking #'s. I also try to communicate very well with people that buy eggs from me. I want them to be happy, and I would love for them to buy eggs from me again.

Actually priority mail is not guaranteed 2 days. They state that is usually takes 2 days. If you want guaranteed fast delivery, you have to pay for Express mail.

I went back and checked the transaction. It said eggs would be shipped by priority mail. It did not say anything about a tracking number being used. The message from ebay said the eggs were shipped June 2. I will email the seller and see if there is any more info. I guess you win some and you lose some. Thanks for the advice all.

I'd ask the seller for a shipping confirmation number, and if they continue to ignore you, go the whole nine yards. File a dispute with paypal, leave negative feedback, and send a complaint to e-bay.

They have no right to treat you like you are an inconvenience when they are sitting on your money. I bet if you take the steps above, they won't jilt anyone else in the future. They probably really pride themselves on the pristine feedback score, and will want to keep it.
