Normally father goose would be would be hanging around the nest, I think. His absence does not bode well for the father.

I don't think thats part of his duties. But he'll be right there to help once they hatch. She won't go far to eat and drink but seems she'd have to have some kind of water for swimming thats how they maintain humidity underneath.Will the male also take turns sitting on the nest so mom get get away to eat and such?
