what to do when chickens won't stay in run

my hens (wyandottes, cochins and barred rock)
keep getting out of their run, whether they are jumping up on a rock and flying over or just straight up flying over it they are out regardless. i don't mind entirely, we were just tired of stepping in poo so we made them a gigantic run! (they used to be completely free range)

You'll have to extend the wire about 10 in or so above any solid surface on your fence like posts or gates to keep them from hopping to the top of the fence and then hopping down on the other side. You can also just string a couple of strands of plain wire for this purpose, nice and tight...even strong fishing line will do it. Anything that knocks them back down when they try to hop up to their "landing strip'.
