I have 5 light red chickens. They showed up at my coop one by one about a year ago. I assume from the neglectful neighbor. Anyhow these girls joined my flock and have been a great addition to my already 10 girls I had. Alls been good for over a year and they all were doing great. During this year we have lost one Roo due to his aggressiveness to humans ( we put him down). His child, whom I raised myself and was hoping he would be nicer. He is a little bit, but he seems to be a bit overly loveling and could be maybe a bit aggressive to the girls.. The five are now looking puny. At first I thought they could just be moulting? now Im thinking they could be Sick or is it just too much love? I separated the worst of the girls. She wasn't moving much, looked very rough and had been sleeping in her laying area. The first thing I did was I checked for lice and mites.. there are none, but i sprayed and treated her anyway. My girls have and get plenty of food and water. I am going to put corid in everyone's water and gave them some coconut oil to nibble on. I also gave this to my separated gilr, who is not eating or moving much. Any ideas? I can see their little tails and they almost look like they have mange. but unlike the separated firl they are still active and about with the others.... the rest of my flock looks good, so I'm perplexed. Ive thought of moving the 5 red hens to a separate coop just to see.. Then hubby suggested moving the roo.. Any suggestions?
