I have a hen that's been sitting in the next box almost 24/7 for 3 days now. The first evening I took her out and put her on a roost.
This would be a bad time to hatch new chicks with winter just around the corner here in Michigan. We haven't let any eggs accumulate under her. If I keep pulling her out of the nest, will I break her of this broodiness? I'm hoping to have a broody hen and some new chicks in the spring. If I break her of this broodiness, is she less likely to get broody in the spring?
Any advice would be appreciated.
