It's really not to bad. Not my fav, but it is edible. I usually end up killing coons in the middle of the night and dont feel like cleaning and prepping. Just because its not at the grocery store doesn't mean that its not good to eat. Most people are just reacting on emotion, I'm just saying... Most of us consume the flesh of what was once a living creature when you get right down to it. Mostly just cultural issues, nothing more. I'll try most anything just for the experience and yes I do find some flavors or textures disgusting but I try...

I'd give it a shot... I'm too "namby pamby" about killing critters to do it myself, but sure... I'd eat racoon... In certain parts of the world, people eat rats... it's just protein right? The vid on The Coon Man was pretty cool!

When I was a boy we used to sell coons. Skinned and gutted but it was very important to leave one of the front paws attached. Got a couple of bucks apiece for them back in the seventies.

I always leave a back foot attached if cleaning them to eat cut the glands out as well​

Back around 1980/81 we had a whole bunch of lay off's here and the men who were laid off started doing anything they could to make a living , and who would blame them , at the time I was in the house painting busisness and they cut my prices so bad that it also put me out of busisness . None of them got more than 1 or 2 jobs that I was bidding on but there were 70 or 80 / 2 to 3 man teams who all got 1 or 2 , All I had left for the winter was trapping and we had coon nearly all the time for nearly a year , if it's cleaned right it is a good meal , with stuffing , rice in stews and soups , still i'm glad our local recession only lasted for 10 to 12 months .
