What to do with charcoal grill ashes???

I know this is off topic but this is a busy forum and I know I'll get some quality answers pretty quickly. I had to clean out my charcoal grill and I have all these ashes and clumps of spent charcoals. Are they good for anything like plants? Maybe the chickens could benefit from them somehow? Use the big chunks in my garden as mulch? Or should I just chuck this in the garbage?

Throw'em in your run or in a pile on the ground, they're good for dust bathing. If you have a base soil-type you could use them to make it more neutral. Ashes are acidic.

They are also great in the garden or flower bed.
