What to do with chicks after broody hen hatches them????

Thanks for the info..I have been racking my brain trying to figure out how and where to make my broody and babies another place to stay until they are a lot bigger.

We always let our chicks stay with their mom. She'll keep the close and the other birds have never tried to harm the chicks. Our birds free range every day but we don't let the new chicks and mom out due to cats that check out the babies, although they have never hurt any chicken we don't want to tempt them with little ones.

One more plus to leaving them with the broody in the coop/run is the older birds will already be use to them and it won't be strangers your trying to move in. So the flock should be happier and they'll know their place in the pecking order.

I have just started free ranging my chickens today(they used to be free range before I got them) and so the broody hen and babies can use the outside pen until the chicks are big enough and on their own.
