My godmother leant me her Easter egg making kit, so I was able to remove the contents while saving the shell. Both of these had very strange yolks, not something I would want to eat. I'm assuming they will get better as they get bigger and she gets more established in her egg laying. I'm thinking I'll save the first couple from everyone, but beyond that, what does everyone do with their pullets first few eggs? I know its hard to tell from a photo, but these aren't much bigger than a Robin's egg.

Mine are currently sitting in a small egg carton in my mantel because I haven't quite decided what I want to do with them. But I have used other, non-first eggs, to make christmas ornaments.

And I'm slowly working on hollowing enough eggs to make a wreath.

When I was growing up we had a family friend who was a egger. She had a huge basement workshop and worked with all kinds of eggs, from snail eggs(!) all the way up to ostrich eggs.

These are some of her ornaments. She also made trinket boxes, music boxes, photo frame eggs, and lighted display pieces.

Those are gorgeous!
